Hey there, it's Kathleen here again with another scrapbooking page idea for you. If you've been following me for a while, you may have noticed I've become rather obsessed with the fussy cutting technique for my projects. All of the Maggie Holmes collections have scrapbook pattern papers that are perfect for fussy cutting!

And in case you need some more fussy cutting inspiration with Maggie's collections, check out these fussy cutting scrapbook ideas

Choosing Which Elements to Fussy Cut:

  • Remember you can mix and match – For this layout I combined fussy cut flowers from the Sunny Days Apple Blossom paper with pink peaches from the Peachy paper. Takeaway – You can use some items from one paper and others from different papers. The things you fussy cut don't all have to come from the same paper!
  • Combine fussy cutting elements to create any theme look you want –Because I was going for a more tropical feel, I cut off the leaves from the Apple Blossom flowers. Instead I mixed in leaves from the Ponderosa paper (Flourish collection), as well as some lemons. The bright yellow of the lemons coordinates perfectly with the flower centers and gives the layout a very fresh and summer theme look.

How to Make this Cute Scrapbook Page with Pink and Yellow Paper Flowers:

  • Choose a neutral scrapbook paper for your background. I used the backside of the Splendor paper. Because it is white in the center, all of my other elements will still stand out. The small polka dot border also adds a nice frame to the whole page.
  • Next, I arranged all of the fussy cutting elements in two corners. To add dimension and different heights to the flowers and leaves, I adhered some of them with 3 dimensional foam squares.
  • Third, I added these Sunny Days dimensional paper flowers in mint and peach. Not only do they fit the color scheme, but they also complete those flowers clusters!

Adding Embellishments to the Scrapbook Layout:

  • When it comes to embellishments for a scrapbook page, resist the urge to add too much –  Since the pink and yellow paper flowers are clearly the stars of this layout, I didn't want to add much else. But I did have some of the floral stickers from the Willow Lane sticker book in coordinating colors left so I added a few of them in the clusters.

  • When embellishing your scrapbook page, the key is to enhance the main focal point, but not overwhelm it – Here I felt the yellow sunglasses and bathing suit stickers worked well in the lower left cluster of flowers. Also I added the mint and pink sticker with the girl on a pool float in the upper right corner. I felt they were just perfect for this page because they fit the theme and the colors, which made me so happy!

Final Tips for Creating your Scrapbook Page with Pink and Yellow Paper Flowers:

  • Don't be afraid to leave some white space – Because the two corners are quite full and busy with all those fussy cut elements, I kept the rest of the layout rather empty to give it room to breathe.
  • Sometimes it works best to add your title last – Finally, for the title I used the You + Me from the cardstock stickers and added my journaling next to it. Adding it last helped me find the perfect spot where it would stand out and not get buried under everything else.

That's it from me today! I hope you enjoyed this layout and feel inspired to give fussy cutting a try, too! Or are you already a fussy cutting enthusiast? I would love to know! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Xo, Kathleen
